Job Description – Driver/Residence Manager
Reports to: Director of Operations and/or Program Director
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED
License/Certificate Requirements: California Drivers Licence
SUMMARY
The Driver/Resident Manager at INFINITI GROUP LLC is responsible for the supervision of clients in the program’s social-model detoxification residential and/or sober living setting. The Driver/Resident Manager helps provide a safe, supportive, and caring environment while the clients continue their recovery. This position is expected to cooperate as a team member with management and clinical staff. The Driver/Resident Manager has knowledge of and is culturally sensitive to clients and employees. This employee is knowledgeable of the treatment process along with the problems and issues presented by clients participating in treatment programs. The Driver/Resident Manager is responsible for providing a safe, comfortable, and clean residence for clients during their treatment stay.

Age of Patient Population Served: Adult (18 & older)
Population Served: Persons meeting DSM5 criteria for substance use disorders with or without co-occurring psychiatric illness

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Uphold and enforce the agency’s standards, policies and procedures, code of conduct, and rights of persons served
2. Manage and supervise clients by enforcing program rule and guidelines
3. Conduct residence orientation to new clients that includes reviewing safety drills and locations of fire extinguishers, emergency evacuation diagram, exit routes, evacuation procedures, and first-aid kits
4. Conduct weekly client house meetings to discuss internal conflicts, review house rules, accept requests to see physician, review appointments for upcoming week
5. Follow route and time schedule
6. Conduct inspection of vehicles
7. Responsible for client attendance of daily recovery activities as scheduled
8. Monitor and record client medications according to agency policies and procedures
9. Monitor and report client behavior with medication side effects
10. May provide suggestions to clients relating to personal experience, strength, and hope
11. Refer client to his/her therapist/counselor for psychological/emotional issues
12. Provide safe/supervised client transportation to scheduled off-site activities (12-step meetings, outings, physician appointments, recreational and recovery-related activities, etc)
13. Report all health and safety hazards, facility and/or vehicle maintenance/repair problems to the Safety Officer
14. Responsible for vehicle upkeep and conformance with Vehicle Safety Binder
15. Maintain accurate monthly vehicle safety inspection and mileage records
16. Conduct weekly random client urinalysis drug screens and document accordingly
17. Immediately document and report critical incidents, behavioral incidents and medication errors to Safety Officer and/or Program Director
18. Document all instances of infections diseases as described in infection prevention and control procedures located in Safety Binder
19. Gain thorough understanding of facility Safety Binder and document accordingly
20. Conduct emergency safety drills when announced by Safety Officer
21. Participate in mandatory ongoing Health and Safety training as scheduled
22. Participate in scheduled Human Resource and CARF/TJC/Industry standards training sessions
23. Participate in regular meetings with the Director of Operations
24. Participate in meal planning and preparation with residents and ensure each resident is upholding their responsibilities to daily chores and cleaning
25. Additional duties may be required if deemed necessary by administration
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Documentation- Ability to learn and utilize the organization’s Electronic Health Records system.
2. Documenting in a timely and thorough manner in compliance with agency policies and procedures, including client meetings, medication observation, vitals, attendance
3. Time Management –Ability to complete assigned tasks timely and accurately.
4. Application to practice - Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with clients.
5. Provide a safe and secure environment for staff and employees
6. Ability to positively interact and develop rapport with clients.
7. Ability to supervise client daily activities.
8. Safely transports residents to and from appointments on time
9. Medication observation– Accuracy when completing medication observation, understanding scope of practice. Knowledgeable of medications, Adverse side effects, and proper chain of command.
10. Professional Readiness -Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with subordinate staff, supervisors, utilization review, managed health care clinicians, medical and mental health professionals.
11. Health and Safety – Completion and thoroughness of all designated health & safety/infection control tasks.
12. Scope of Practice – Full understanding and application of scope of practice in regard to company role and credential
13. Advanced Understanding of Addiction: Basic knowledge about substance use disorders.
14. Maintain overall upkeep and cleanliness of assigned facility
15. Responsible for supervision of daily house chores (if applicable)
Education, Training, and Experience Required:
1. GED and/or high school diploma preferred
2. Possess a valid California Driver’s License
3. Good driving record
4. Previous experience in similar field preferred
5. Familiar with agency policies and procedures for resident and the program goals and objectives
6. Current CPR/First Aid Certification
7. Current TB Clearance
8. Ability to communicate effectively and develop rapport with clients in a treatment setting
9. Ability to conduct resident drug tests which includes observing residents giving urine samples, reading tests and sending tests to the appropriate lab.
10. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with clinical and administrative staff and supervisors
11. Preferred minimum of one-year sobriety and maintaining sobriety if participating in a program of recovery.
12. Ability to drive clients to and from residents and corporate office.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The job requires frequent contact with water (hand washing and cleaning) and working with body fluid and hazardous chemicals. When under these working conditions, OSHA standards and universal precautions must be followed at all times.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal to high volumes of stress.
