Job Description
The purpose of this job is to safely operate all terminal equipment in connection with receiving, storing, transferring and loading of refined fuel products via pipeline, trucks or tanks, and help provide guidance, direction, and mentorship to new and existing Team Members to operate in a safe, efficient environment.
In this role you will :
Operate refined fuel process equipment for loading and unloading tanks
Provide guidance and direction to new and current operators on daily responsibilities and help train new staff as needed
Participate in general training, job specific training and hazardous materials training as required and complete written examinations
Perform gauging of storage tanks and temperature readouts, and obtain product samples daily
Perform all maintenance and compliance inspections (e.g., daily, monthly, quarterly, annual), maintain required logs and report all equipment failures to supervisor
Identify and source parts, supplies, and repair equipment as needed
Calculate and input all product inventories and daily meter readings into appropriate systems
Receive and initiate calls from employees, supervisors, etc.; responds to routine questions and requests.
Perform daily walk around inspections to identify any safety concerns or potential risks and ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
Provide preventive and routine maintenance on various operating equipment (e.g., pumps, meters, compressors, motors, tanks, pipes, terminal building, and various other equipment
Calibrate and adjust all additive injection systems as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent certificate required
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
Minimum five years’ industry and / or terminal loading system experience preferred
HAZWOPER certification preferred
Basic Microsoft Office skills required
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience required
Basic electrical aptitude and experience preferred
Strong knowledge of bulk storage loading racks and automation systems
Working knowledge of Transportation (truck, rail or air), Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and / or Oil & Gas Service work
Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to lead and motivate others
Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to take initiative and work both independently and with a team
Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
Able to climb, bend, stoop and twist
Able to work outdoors and stand for long periods of time
Able to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as needed
Exposure to a variety of weather conditions and temperatures
Work around trucks, trailers and fuel hauling equipment
Able to lift up to 75 Pounds
Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid or windy conditions caused by the weather including : snow, rain, heat and sub-freezing temps;
loud noise and fumes from gas, oil and grease
