What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1595 - Elections Aide position at Pima County?
There are multiple, intermittent positions with the Pima County Elections Department.

Special Notice Item: Must be available to work on-call as needed and work overtime for extended periods of time.
Performs clerical work involving the preparation and maintenance of materials supplies, and equipment used in the election process.
Pima County Department of Elections will be hiring intermittent employees for the following four work areas of the Elections Department:
1. Front Office:
Basic duties involve answering phone, fax and greeting office guests.
Performs clerical work involving the preparation materials and supplies used in the election process.
Data entry.
Processing of ballots.
2. Warehouse:
Basic duties involve lifting and removing boxes and items from shelves and bins.
Operating delivery vehicles; loading and unloading of supplies and materials.
Daily use of forklift, ladders and pallet jacks.
Must receive, store, distribute and inventory supplies.
3. Tech:
Basic duties involve preparing and testing election equipment.
Operate computer and other equipment for the purpose of ballot tabulation.
Must have basic computer skills.
Must be able to multi-task.
Must be detailed oriented.
Must have a flexible schedule and availability to work long days.
4. Early Boards:
Process early ballots.
Manually count envelopes against reports.
Complete reports of work processed.

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum/desired qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum/desired qualifications may be further evaluated/scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments/testing may be required as part of the selection process.
Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. (License requirement applies to all areas except Early Boards).

Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County.
