What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving clerk position at PIMS Inc?
PURPOSE
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording shipments of incoming products. This position ensures that packages are received in acceptable quality condition, unloaded, and accurately allocated to their designated warehouse locations. The Receiving Clerk maintains inventory accuracy and communicates with relevant teams regarding product returns and rush orders.

As assigned by manager
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt
• Unload packages from incoming trucks
• Inspect packages to ensure they are in acceptable quality condition
• Verify packages according to purchase orders to ensure part numbers and quantities match
• Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments
• Communicate and coordinate with appropriate Buyers for product returns
• Utilize cell phones, RF scanners, and other technology necessary to process inbound shipments, including sending photos and emails to the account management team
• Label all packages and allocate them to their designated warehouse locations
• Ensure all aisles and docks are kept clear
• Maintain a safe work environment by following company procedures and safety regulations
• Ensure all incoming orders are verified and counted within a 48-hour time frame
• React accordingly to rush incoming orders

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Experience in a production or warehouse operation or willingness to learn
• Proficiency in using RF scanners, cell phones, and other relevant technology
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50lbs
• Capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods
• Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
