Our Business Advising Team provides education, support, and guidance in the form of skills building, coaching, and education to help business owners grow and create more sustainable business operations. We are currently seeking 5 Microbusiness Advisors who will work directly with very small businesses (typically under 10 employees) to support them in creating a more sustainable business operation. It would be helpful to also have some level of expertise in one or more of the following core areas: Marketing, Digital and social media, Business Planning and Strategy, Human Resources, Website Development, Graphic Design, and/or basic Business experience.
We are currently looking to fill both Part-Time and Full-Time position with benefits including telehealth, PTO, and paid holidays. Full Time positions include 401k, medical, dental, and health benefits.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Outreach and recruitment of small businesses through attending in-person events with community partners, visiting businesses, social media, and other strategies to help inform businesses about the Prestamos programs and help them sign up for services
- Perform assessment of client needs and provide direct business coaching and guidance via one-on-one consultation or small group counseling
- Perform review of client’s business model, operations, marketing, and capabilities to make sound and feasible recommendations to the client for sustainability and economic growth. Ability to assist small businesses to develop capability statements, business plans, business proposals, budgets and financial projections, and other diverse instruments, tools, and packages to facilitate access to contracting, financing, and expansion opportunities.
- Provide culturally competent customer service and advise with focus of building on client’s strengths and capabilities to gain access to capital, access to contracting opportunities, and ultimately create a positive impact on revenue generation, increased profitability, job creation and increased rate of return on investment for the client.
- Ability to help collect metrics and analyze outcomes to determine progress and changes needed including providing data into our CRM system
- Assist in overall mission of Prestamos by working in a team environment to effectively complete other duties as assigned.
- Reports to and is supervised directly by the Associate Manager of Business Advising Team. Employee is also accountable for understanding and complying with CPLC and Prestamos CDFI, LLC policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- Microsoft Office expertise (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Successfully pass a criminal background check.
- Past experience working with or mentoring entrepreneurs
- Valid driver’s license and proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required as position will require travel within the state.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours will be required
- Ability to present operational information to personnel at all levels.
- Experience communicating effectively and work collaboratively with diverse small business owners
- Employee will be expected to participate in continuous learning, competency building and maintenance of competency skills.
Effective January 3, 2022, all CPLC Employees and all Service Providers, are required to be Fully Vaccinated against COVID-19. Newly hired employees, who are not Fully Vaccinated at the time of hire, are expected to begin a vaccination series immediately upon hire. CPLC recognizes medical and religious exemptions to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, in accordance with applicable law and upon approval by CPLC. However, any person approved for an exemption, without exception, is subject to masking, weekly COVID-19 testing at their expense, and other requirements established by CPLC from time to time.
