Criminal Justice Teacher is to teach assigned courses within the Career and Technical Education Department. Courses to be taught for the 2024-2025 school year include: Intro to Law and Public Safety and Law Enforcement. Teacher is to create a classroom environment for students to learn effectively. Teacher will follow Arkansas CTE standards for Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement courses and complete requisite training and credentialing. Building upon the fundamentals, these courses are designed to give students both classroom theory and hands-on experience in law enforcement.
Educational And Certification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a valid Arkansas teaching license with applicable level/area endorsement
- Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience is preferred
- Arkansas Teacher CTE certification
Teaching
Deliver engaging and informative lessons in 'Introduction to Law and Public Safety', covering foundational knowledge in Law, Legal Services, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Fire Science, Emergency Medical Response, Corrections, Dispatch, Forensics, and Security.
Instruct the 'Law Enforcement' course, focusing on practical skills and knowledge required for police and public security roles, including patrol, investigations, traffic control, crowd control, public relations, interviewing witnesses, evidence management, and understanding court procedures.
Career Exploration And Skills Development
- Guide students in exploring various career paths in the criminal justice field.
- Foster the mastery of basic skills essential to each career area in criminal justice.
Curriculum Development And Assessment
- Develop and update curriculum materials and instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students
- Assess and evaluate student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
Professional Development And Credential Maintenance
- Stay current with developments in the field of criminal justice and law enforcement education
- Maintain the Arkansas Secondary CTE Law Enforcement Services credential.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Experience in law enforcement or related fields is highly desirable.
