Job Posting for Library Media Specialist at Pine Grove Elementary
Pine Grove School is seeking an enthusiastic Librarian/Media Specialist.
The candidate selected would teach Library and Media literacy classes to all grade levels (PK-6th)as a specialist offering. The Librarian/Media Specialist should strive to instill a love of learning in all students and ensure equitable access to information. The applicant will also actively engage students in lessons that are planned around grade-level expectations and enhance critical thinking skills. The applicant will collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to incorporate grade-level projects related to academics and technology.
In addition, the Library/Media Specialist will be instructing students in the use of a variety of technology tools.
Salary by the Triton Regional Teachers Association Contract.
Expectations and Responsibilities: To empower students to be critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, skillful researchers, and ethical users of information. Perform a variety of responsibilities, technical and clerical duties involving circulation, reference, cataloging, and record-keeping activities within a school library facility.Serve as a resource person regarding the use of technology and library materials.
Train and provide work direction to students and staff in the area of technology as part of their instruction.
Assist students, staff, and others in locating and utilizing library materials.
Maintain the library in a neat and orderly condition.
Assist in monitoring and maintaining acceptable student behavior in the library
Process library and instructional materials according to established procedures.
