SUMMARY
The Lead Bartender coordinates ordering, receiving, and storing bar inventory. Serving liquor,
beer, wine, and soft drinks. Supervises bar and staff while maintain a professional work
environment by providing excellent customer service to property owners, patrons, and guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
  • Serves, mixes or prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food services to patrons
  • Plans layout of storeroom, back bar, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, and
related factors of items stored.
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures,
including Alcohol Beverage Control policies.
  • Examines records and recommends actions for reported unusable, slow moving, and/or
excess inventory.
  • Schedules shifts to include monthly inventories.
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow of bartenders
and lounge wait staff.
  • Responsible for reviewing and submitting bar personnel timesheets in a timely manner for
payroll to process.
  • Administers written and oral instructions to bar staff.
  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves complaints.
  • Responsible for cash bank and daily deposit.
  • Must have night, weekend, and holiday availability.
  • Regular, punctual attendance is required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises up to four employees in the bar and lounge staff. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring (on approval of the Food & Beverage Director and
GM), and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to two
years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.




LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, pour costs and percentages. Ability
to apply concepts of bookkeeping principles.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations
where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in
written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
ServSafe Food Handler certification and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certificate.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Computer skills, POS system. Ability to operate specific equipment and tools.
