Pinetop Sport Club, the 2022 USTA featured Facility of the Year for North Carolina is seeking a new professional team member. We are a full-service sport club with 8 outdoor-lit clay tennis courts, 5 sand volleyball courts, and a full bar and grill. There are 6 pickleball courts and a fitness center under construction. We have active junior and adult programs. We seek someone professional, enthusiastic, punctual, and good with kids and adults. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, energetic, and passionate about tennis and be able to teach, train, and coach individuals and teams of all ages and levels of abilities. This includes planning and conducting adult clinics, women’s tennis team practices, and all aspects of junior tennis including clinics and camps. This person must also have excellent communication skills when dealing with private club members and guests. Successful applicants will currently hold certification with the USPTA or PTR, however, we will accept an equivalent of 3 years of teaching experience in a school or club instead of certification, or college tennis experience. The pickleball experience would be a bonus.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for teaching, planning, implementing, and promoting tennis programs for all age groups, while providing outstanding customer service to the Members and Guests of the Club. Maintain courts and ensure that the environment is safe and clean for all those who use the facility. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The essential functions include, but are not limited to:
1. Effectively plans, organizes, and conducts tennis lessons for all ages and abilities.
2. Works with the Director to monitor tennis shop operations, merchandising, and ensures the appropriate merchandise is stocked.
3. Creating and sending communications to tennis membership
4. Ensures players receive exemplary customer service and understand the importance of building individual guest contacts.
5. Assist in planning and promoting social tennis/pickleball events for membership.
6. Arrange and lead training camps, skill improvement courses, and clinics.
7. Will be required to work some shop hours and work some weekends.
8. Occasionally repairs and restrings tennis equipment.
19. Obtain a basic understanding of Pickleball rules and play. (There is great potential for someone with Pickleball experience to offer clinics, run leagues, and events.)
