Description
PingWind is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Database Specialist II to join our dynamic team. As an IT Database Specialist II, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability.

Required Clearance: Secret
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
Required Experience: Eight (8) years of experience as a Database Specialist
Responsibilities
· Manage and administer database systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
· Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient and reliable operation.
· Design and implement database structures, ensuring data integrity and normalization.
· Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard database systems.
· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry best practices.
· Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data.
· Test and document disaster recovery procedures to minimize downtime.
· Analyze and optimize SQL queries and database performance.
· Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks to enhance system responsiveness.
· Plan and execute database system upgrades and apply patches as necessary.
Requirements
· Investigate and resolve database-related issues and incidents.
· Work closely with application developers to support database integration and functionality.
· Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems and processes.
· Develop and update data models, database schemas, and system configurations.
· Monitor database growth and plan for capacity expansion as needed.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to assess future database requirements.
· Proficiency in database management systems, such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
· Strong SQL scripting skills and experience with database performance tuning.
· Knowledge of data modeling and database design principles.
· Familiarity with data security, compliance, and disaster recovery best practices.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in technology, Computer Science, or a related field, AWS Certified Database, Azure Database Admin, SQL Server certification, CompTIA Fundementals
