What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Trainer position at Pinion?

Develop and present training content for a growing global workforce.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Create and present training for new employees on the firm's processes, procedures, and technology
  • Train employees how to properly use a variety of software programs, including how to enter data according to firm practices
  • Design e-learning courses, which includes developing case studies and simulations, writing scripts, and using sound instructional design methodology in course development
  • Teach the PINION Way, standards and processes for job functions including, but not limited to audits, tax returns, and reviews; participate in design of firm processes and procedures
  • Work with Onboarding Integration Manager to conduct needs assessments by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, workflow, processes, and technology
  • Gather feedback on software usage; analyze feedback to identify patterns that indicate areas for improvement in training or need for different training
  • Collaborate effectively with the Technical Mentor Team to develop interactive labs, exercises, and breakouts for training for the employee's first year
  • Utilize a variety of training disciplines such as in-person, live video, recorded, connected classrooms, and others

 

What you’ll need for this position:

 

  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in adult continuing education, finance, or accounting preferred
  • 5 - 7 years of related industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience delivering technical and software training, preferably within an accounting environment
  • Knowledge of e-learning instructional design methodologies and tools
  • Experience developing e-learning and video storyboards, scripts, and custom content
  • Understanding of effective training principles, evaluation systems and transfer plans, and the ability to apply to practical situations
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups of training participants, peers, IT, and management
  • Proficiency with a variety of technology systems and tools to include: Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment where improvements are continuously being made and things are changing quickly
  • Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 25% of the time

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with CCH Axcess & ProSystem fx   
  • LCvista, or other LMS, experience

In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000 to $90,000.
