SUMMARY OF POSITION:
A Small Business Administration (SBA) Quality Control Analyst should demonstrate commitment to delivering distinctive service. This position will be responsible for ensuring SBA Lending's compliance with SBA, USDA, and other governing regulations by identifying risks and reporting findings both pre- and post-close. The position will oversee the firm's compliance with SBA, USDA, and financial industry regulations, with a focus on retaining the guarantee or participation of the Federal agency.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide distinctive service to clients and prospects, in person and over the telephone. Respond to client inquiries and satisfactorily resolve client issues. Support firm-wide achievement of the three-ring standard (all phones answered by a live person within three rings).
- Adhere to and comply with Bank policies, procedures, applicable state and federal laws, and regulatory guidance.
- Complete all required job-related banking regulatory and compliance training.
- Work with client-facing associates who manage the day-to-day relationship when local contacts are required to achieve the desired results.
- Provide data to produce routine and special reports.
- Identify key risks and mitigate for the SBA Lending portfolio.
- Resolve issues and problems through collaboration with other associates and external resources, as necessary.
- Perform duties specific to either post-closing compliance or portfolio monitoring and client servicing, as assigned.
- Engage with all areas of SBA lending regarding quality control of the portfolio throughout the review process, ensuring compliance with SBA policy and government regulation.
- Perform pre-close and post-close reviews, as assigned, within an agreed upon timeline. Review and report on SBA application documents/authorizations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and the firm's policies and procedures.
- Identify errors requiring document changes needed to protect the firm's legal rights and/or the agency guarantee and may provide guidance on remediation of compliance findings to assure compliance with government regulation as well as accomplish greater alignment of the teams.
- Communicate file review findings to SBA Closing Advisors and/or Attorneys, ensuring necessary pre- and post-closing documentation is obtained in order to clear internal findings and maintain the loans compliance with internal and external bank and SBA regulations.
- Perform PCFS quality control reviews prior to loan boarding into the PCFS core system. (PCFS)
- Enter pre- and post- close findings, collateral exceptions, and other noted issues for reporting purposes.
- Update PCFS Loan Manager collateral tickler system for collateral exception mitigations from pre-close, and post-close, special asset requirements
- Perform other reviews and provide technical support as requested to Special Assets associates, which include reviews prior to guaranty purchase, construction issues, problem loan management, and other duties as assigned.
- Remain current and knowledgeable of the 7A, 504 and USDA regulations and any changes in the program.
- Meet all the client's financial needs, both business and personal, and refer clients to other specialty areas such as Trust, Investments, Insurance, Treasury Management, etc. as appropriate.
- Assist other team members as needed to ensure delivery of distinctive service.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
DESCRIPTION OF EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in financial services.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or related software.
- Knowledge of SBA Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Broad knowledge of bank products and services.
- Knowledge of federal and state banking regulations and compliance requirements as it relates to aspects of lending and loan transaction processing including any internal audit requirements.
