Job Description
- Remote Role / LONG-TERM CONTRACT
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Oracle patching and upgrade tasks
- Implement and support tasks such as patching coordination, backup and recovery procedures, database utilities, and data replication technologies for both PROD and NON-PROD environments
- Assist with Data Guard implementation and support tasks
- Log, schedule and track all changes using change management system tools
- Responsible for all corrections to the database infrastructure and for repairs to the system or database
- Protecting our customers and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions
- Work with application owners and DBAs to ensure database compliance standards are maintained
- Available for on call rotation with team, tentatively every 4 weeks, as well as light on call after hours support, as determined by patching requests and incidents in team queue
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
- Qualifications:
- Experience with multiple facets of Oracle Data Guard including physical and Active DG
- Experience with Oracle database patching
- Experience in an Oracle DBA position, or related experience
- Oracle database platform experience
- Proficient Oracle DBA knowledge including upgrades, patching, RMAN backup/recovery
- Experience with Oracle Client Manager (OEM) version 10g or higher
- Strong communication skills with the ability to transcend the organization with appropriate levels of detail
- Strong teamwork, decision-making, documentation and analytical skills
- Knowledge of Service Management best practices (Incident, Problem, and Change Management)
- Experience protecting Confidential and Highly-Confidential database content
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
