As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will partner with the facility’s team to ensure patients receive prompt and appropriate care by creating a consistent therapeutic milieu for patients. You will play a direct role in saving the lives of our patients each day by serving them in a safe environment promoting long-term recovery.

Requirements
- HS diploma/ GED
- Valid Accredited Certified Medical Assistant certification
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Valid driver’s license in good standing and ability to be insured by a company-designated carrier
- Local travel as required
- COVID –19 Vaccination / approved exemption status
Preferred experience:
- Two years’ experience as medical assistant
- Prior experience with chemical addiction and/or mental health disease including psychopharmacology
- BLS certified
Responsibilities:
- Works as part of the intake team to ensure patients are seen promptly.
- Obtain lab work, and urine drug screens.
- Observe urine samples, test onsite and/or package for laboratory.
- Observes self-administration of medications including suboxone and other MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment).
- Data entry and records keeping in the electronic health record.
- Ensure the treatment plan of the physician or Medical Director is being followed.
- Giving and interpreting Mantoux Testing.
- Makes appointments for patients to see physician, provides lab work and referrals for additional follow up care.
- Assists in training teammates in medical, health, and safety matters and helps maintain medical equipment.
- Maintain and keep updated all medical records and documentation pertaining to the patients.
- Maintain contact with community medical personnel.
- Assist in the development and revision of policies and procedures for medication compliance.
- Purchasing and ordering of medical supplies.
- Educates patients about suboxone and vivitrol maintenance as well as side effects and provides education to patients on lab results and all medical matters.
- Communicate with and access pharmacy on behalf of patient and facility.
- Other duties as assigned within scope of role
