Brewer

Position Summary:

Support brewery functions and needs as defined by the Head Brewer. The ideal candidate will possess a love of Pinthouse beer and a desire for upward growth and new challenges in a fast-growing brewpub.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operation of 15bbl direct fire brewhouse
• Cellar functions
  • Beer transfers
  • Dry-Hopping
  • FV CIP
  • Carbonation
  • SV CIP
• Maintain all brewlogs and transfer logs with excel spreadsheets
• Cleaning and filling kegs
• Safe handling of brewery chemicals for CIP
• Safely use a ladder or forklift and man basket for dry hopping and/or tank cleaning and breakdown
• Milling and grain inventory maintenance
• Brewery cleaning and maintenance as directed by the Head Brewer.
• Support brewery staff as directed by the Head Brewer
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

• N/A

Required Qualifications:

• Previous experience or education in the brewing industry
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Maintain flexible hours
• Ability to attend and work outside events and tasting room operations
• Ability to speak in front of groups or tours

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education in Fermented Science or Related Field
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
• Ability to work independently and in a team with minimal direct supervision
• Self-Starter and motivated to continually learn and grow as a member of the craft beer industry

• Forklift
• Scissor Lift
• Semi-Automated Keg Washer
• General Brewery Equipment and Chemicals

• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb
• Must be able to critically assess beer quality in moderation and safely as directed by the Head Brewer
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

• Primarily work will be done at Round Rock brewpub, with occasional travel between other Pinthouse locations and company office.
