Job Summary: The Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts [PCPA] is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager. This position will report to the Director of Community Engagement, working as a key team member in the Education, Engagement, and Special Initiatives Department. This position is primarily responsible for managing the organization’s brand in the community, compiling data to measure marketing initiatives, creating digital and print marketing and development assets, coordinating with media outlets and third-party design and PR vendors, and managing marketing settlements. The Marketing and Communications Manager must possess strong design and writing skills, be self-motivated, and enjoy interacting with the community as a representative of the Pioneer Center. In addition to working closely all members of the Education, Engagement, and Special Initiatives Department, this position will collaborate with the Events Director, Controller, and various third party contracted partners including Nederlander National Markets (national Broadway media) and Design on Edge (local PR and design). The ideal candidate will be extremely organized, detail-oriented, dependable, confident, have a passion for the performing arts, and appreciate the positive and respectful company culture at PCPA. This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position available immediately. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage general marketing calendar including show announcements, ticket on sales, social media campaigns, fundraising communications, project/design due dates, and more
Create and coordinate various digital and print assets as needed, including updating existing programs and sponsorship marketing assets
Manage and create e-blast and social media communications
Maintain and update AudienceView/WordPress website content including new show articles, program schedules and info, fundraising campaigns, online brochures, staff directories, etc.
Maintain and update lobby PowerPoint displays
Create show playbills for Broadway and in-house programming, including tracking and implementing all paid advertisements
Create and oversee annual reports and seasonal fundraising campaign designs
Coordinate new design projects for marketing and development programs with third party contractors, including Design on Edge
Coordinate and organize all marketing materials for Broadway, in-house programming, and rental clients
Create marketing assets for rental clients as needed
Design education newsletters
Manage Broadway, in-house, and contracted marketing settlements including tracking ad placements and invoices
Coordinate implementation of Broadway marketing plans with national Broadway marketing firms and local partners
Coordinate and attend media interviews with Pioneer Center representatives and Broadway cast members in collaboration with Design on Edge
Coordinate and track media buys
Create press releases as needed and coordinate media engagement with Design on Edge
Create and track post-show patron surveys for Broadway and educational programming and other marketing data
Submit all mainstage and public outreach programming to community calendars
Collaborate on cross promotions with area businesses
Represent the Pioneer Center and provide support at community engagement and promotional events as needed
General logo management and public brand monitoring
Design branded templates and graphics for e-blasts and social media
Manage social media profiles
Assist in community relations campaigns as needed
Stay current with national performing arts marketing trends and data, including accessibility in digital media
Document all Pioneer Center produced events through photo/video capture and maintain Pioneer Center archives
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement

Required Qualifications:
Completed bachelor’s degree, or 4 years related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook
Skilled in Adobe Creative, including Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
Skilled in basic HTML and Bootstrap coding
Strong writing and grammar skills
Some evening and weekend schedule flexibility for events
Passion for the northern Nevada community, non-profit work, and the performing arts
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the marketing and communications field
Spanish language skills
Previous management experience
Reliable personal transportation and valid driver’s license
Knowledge of WordPress and understanding of basic CSS/PHP coding
Experience with the arts and/or nonprofit organizations
Desire to make a long-term commitment to the Pioneer Center
Employment Overview:
Non-exempt hourly position
Typical schedule: Monday – Friday | 9am to 5pm (with some flexibility for evening and weekend events as needed)
Starting pay: $30 per hour
