Overview
Performs maintenance, installations, and repairs of equipment and building support systems that are necessary to the operation and quality compliance of the plant and offices at the facility. Instruct, train, and coach maintenance personnel in all aspects of the job, including the proper maintenance techniques, safety requirements, and plant operations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Accountable for managing the department’s maintenance program (system/documentation) and annual budget.
- Responsible for creating and executing plans for a maintenance program that meets Nadcap, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
- Accountable for all OSHA-required safety training and administration within the department.
- Submits new vendor requests to the Purchasing function for approval and set up in the ERP system (Approved Vendor List).
- Responsible for the purchase of maintenance equipment and consumables.
- Responsible for creating capital expense requests (CERs) for approval and execution of equipment purchases and break/fix repairs.
- Responsible for the inventory control of maintenance consumables and spare parts.
- Responsible for maintenance technicians' training plans working with the Learning and Development manager.
- Conducts annual and periodic performance reviews in alignment with company processes and timeframes. Includes recommending pay increases within company guidelines.
- Responsible for the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/goals in collaboration with other internal departments.
- Promotes communication and teamwork with a focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and good housekeeping throughout the plant.
- Manages outside contractors to ensure they adhere to OSHA and plant safety requirements and complete contractual work according to purchase agreements.
- Performs basic job duties for equipment maintenance, repair, installation, fabrication, operational adjustments, troubleshooting, and any other duties as needed.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Perform start-up and shutdown functions on plant equipment and facilities as required.
- Respond to emergency calls on a twenty-four-hour basis.
- Resolve safety issues promptly.
- Works safely at all times in compliance with OSHA safety and EPA regulations.
- Adheres to all applicable corporate and division-level procedures and work instructions.
- Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.
Physical/Environmental/Chemical Hazards
- Sharp parts and tooling, heavy parts and assemblies, noise, hand and air tool use, compressed air, hot and cold temperatures.
- Must be able to wear respiratory protection when required.
- Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs. unassisted.
- Various process chemicals.
Education/Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate degree in Electro-Mechanical or similar education required.
- Requires broad-based knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing acquired through hands-on training.
- Minimum of two years of work-related and leadership experience required.
- Blueprint & and schematic knowledge required.
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
- ISO certification experience preferred.
- Must maintain a “Hands-on” style, willing and capable of taking a lead role in technical problem-solving efforts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees, vendors, and customers at all levels.
