The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School has an immediate opening for a Facilities Technician to help with the day-to-day tasks related to the custodial, logistical and safety operations of the school.
Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for :
- Assisting the Facilities Manager in monitoring school safety policies, protocols, and procedures.
- Assisting main office personnel with any designated tasks needed.
- Assisting with and immediately respond to building emergencies as directed while on shift.
- Assisting with building and grounds maintenance and general repairs as directed.
- Daily pick up of school breakfasts and lunches from off-site and transport to school.
- Maintaining food storage area and adhere to all food safety codes.
- Daily outdoor traffic / bus duty.
- Monitoring the main office / school building after school is dismissed. (student activity, late student pick-ups, visitors, answering phones and doors, checking school and grounds before the end of your shift to ensure students are gone or where they need to be.)
- Coordinating with cleaners and other staff about supervision of students, after-school functions, closing, and securing of building for the night.
- Helping set up for after-school functions as needed.
- Any other task assigned by the Facilities Manager or designated administrator.
Experience, education, skills, abilities, qualifications
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong attendance record.
- 21 years old or older
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs.
- Ability to work in cold, hot, or wet outdoor environments.
- Flexible hours & Additional hours as needed
- CORI and Fingerprint Background Check.
- Ability to think and react quickly, professionally, and appropriately.
- Basic computer knowledge. (Microsoft, Google, PowerSchool, etc.) and ability to learn more systems.
- Self-motivated and team player.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to work.
- Preferred - Serve-safe, First Aid, CPR, and AED certified or the ability to obtain
- Preferred - Prior experience working with middle and high school students.
Other Information / Instructions :
Salary Range : $18-$20 per hour. This is a 40 hour per week position working Monday thru Friday 9 : 00am - 5 : 00pm that follows the school schedule (10 months 180 student days).
