What are the responsibilities and job description for the Android Developer (REMOTE) position at Piper Companies?
Piper Companies is currently seeking an Android Developer for a remote, fulltime opportunity with an innovative research and development team at a leading technology company. The Android Developer will participate in the creation and advancement of a mobile platform for drones, and will design and implement user interfaces and support for robot features on an enterprise Android mobile app.
The Android Developer must be able to work EST hours, and be open to occasional travel to office headquarters in Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities of the Android Developer:
- Create new features, improve performance, and continuously upgrade the robot controller Mobile platform
- Build user interfaces, and enhance the backend functionality of Android mobile applications
- Work with Senior Engineers to develop and integrate mobile software with unmanned robots, drones, and bluetooth devices
- Work with REST APIs for application development
- Aid in the growth and development of junior engineers
- Work with Java, XML, Android Studio, HTTP, JSON, REST APIs.
Qualifications of the Android Developer:
- 4 years of experience in mobile application development
- Strong expertise with Java and Android Studio
- Experience working with remote data via UDP, HTTP, REST APIs, and JSON.
- (Bonus) Experience with Jetpack APIs or Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK)
- (Bonus) Experience implementing external SDKs
- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Must hold U.S. citizenship or green-card
