What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Technician position at Piper Companies?
Piper Companies is currently seeking an Animal Technician near Frederick, MD. This position will be onsite and will integrate drug development services such as and model design and development, GLP bio-distribution, and product release studies in broad range of small animal, non-primate species.
Responsibilities of the Animal Technician include
· Lead the efforts of animal pre-clinical trials through study drug inoculation
· Develop animal protocols and standard operating procedures (SOP’s) to ensure effective approach to research studies
- Prepare samples for testing using various laboratory equipment
- Assist scientist in various laboratory procedures related to the position including various types of surgeries, intubations, etc.
Qualifications of the Animal Technician
- 2 years of experience in related experience such as lab study, animal testing is required
- Bachelor of Science, Zoology, Animal studies preferred, GED or High School Diploma required
Compensation for the Animal Technician
- Salary: $57,500 yearly
