Cyber Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Splunk and Cribl Engineer on our team. This position is fully onsite at the following locations: College Park, MD, Washington DC, or Reston, VA. This position requires TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities:

·       You’ll work individually or in a small integrated team, and lead a task, project, or team.

·       You will ensure project completion and provide guidance and direction to lower-level technicians, specialists, and managers.

·       You’ll provide expertise in engineering design, development, direction, and implementation of enterprise network cyber defense capabilities.

·       You will apply familiarity with the utilization, configuration, and implementation of cyber defense capabilities, including web content filters, email security capabilities, Intrusion Detection Systems, Intrusion Prevention Systems, Host Based Security Systems, Security Incident and Event Management tools, Domain Name System security practices, advanced log analysis, network monitoring, network flow analysis, packet capture analysis, network proxies, firewalls, anti-virus capabilities, Linux/UNIX command line, and access control lists.

Requirements:

•       5-10 years of experience with privileged and elevated access using cybersecurity tools, such as ForeScout, Splunk and Cribl, or Palo Alto Firewalls

·       Experience with Windows and Linux servers, including troubleshooting applications, hardening using STIGs, and patching and updating servers and applications.

·       Experience with the design of cyber systems or solutions

·       Experience automating aspects of cybersecurity tools operations, including deployments or configuration management.

•       Knowledge of DoD Risk Management Framework

•       Active TS/SCI clearance

·       HS diploma or GED and 12 years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, associate degree, and 10 years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, bachelor’s degree, and 8 years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities, or master’s degree and 6 years of experience with supporting IT projects and activities

·       IAT Level III Certification, including CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, or GCIH Certification

Compensation:

·       $140,000-$175,000 **depending on experience**
