What are the responsibilities and job description for the Formulation Research Associate position at Piper Companies?
Piper Companies is currently looking for a Formulation Research Associate in the Gaithersburg, MD area. As the Formulation Research Associate, you will be required to utilize and optimize your creative skills in discovering different formulation technologies and characterize the components of any current formulations/processes.
Responsibilities as a Formulation Research Associate:
- Learns how to review study protocol and ensure study formulations and data for in accordance with SOPs and GLP protocols
- Serve as the head technician for a basic study, and perform protocol review
- Learns how to generate study forms and worksheets.
- Perform many formulation procedures including vehicle preparation, preparation of solutions/suspensions, capsule preparation, and sample collection.
- Perform formulation documentation preparations.
- Calculate dose concentrations and batch sizes
- Recognize and perform deviations
- Safely work with potentially hazardous substances including potential/known teratogens, carcinogens and/or radiolabeled test materials.
- May be required to demonstrate a learned technique or procedure to an untrained individual.
- Overtime, weekend, and holiday work as required.
Qualifications for the Formulation Research Associate:
- B.S. or M.S. in chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, pharmacology, pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, materials science, or other related fields is required.
- 1-3 years post-graduate degree work experience.
- Previous experience in the industry is a plus.
Compensation for the Formulation Research Associate:
- Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 based on years of experience
