Piper Companies is currently seeking a currently seeking a Histotechnician in Charlotte, NC to work under the supervision of a Clinical Histology Supervisor and assist with the collection and preparation of specimens and slides. The histotechnician will lead all histology procedures within a major healthcare system.
Responsibilities for the Histotechnician
· Lead the collection of patient specimens and prepares specimens for testing procedures
· Prepares microscopic slides from surgery and autopsy specimens for examinations
under the supervision of a Clinical Histology Supervisor
· Utilizes formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) samples for procedures
Qualifications for the Histotechnician
· Successful completion of approved program in Histological Technique or equivalent
· Certification as Histologic Tech by ASCP Board or eligible - must be obtained within one year from hire date
· High school diploma or GED required
Compensation for the Histotechnician:
· Salary: up to $81,000 commensurate with experience
