Piper Life Sciences is seeking a Project Manager to support infectious disease research projects for the US Army in Frederick, MD.
This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate with a strong scientific background who is looking to transition off the bench and work in project management.
Responsibilities for the Project Manager include:
· Works with Project Leads, Division and Directorate leadership, and Research Program Office to initiate, execute, and close out research projects
· Provides support to Principal Investigators in the following areas:
o Research Proposals and Agreements
o Budget Estimates and Execution
o Tracking project schedules/timelines
o Data, document, and manuscript support
o Project change requests, etc.
· Manages cost, schedule, and performance for several projects at once
· Maintains knowledge of financial, business, and project execution processes to manage scientific projects and portfolios
· Acts as liaison to the Office of Research Technology Applications
· Interacts with PI’s and necessary personnel to initiate and revise agreement documents, track approval status, maintain visibility of milestone completion and invoicing, and ensure all deliverables are met according to project timeline
Qualifications for the Project Manager include:
· 4 years executing/performing bench-level research experiments within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry
· Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences or related field is required, Master of Science is preferred
· Experience managing project timelines, communicating with PI’s, and/or writing research proposals and agreements is strongly preferred
· Public Trust clearance OR the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance is required
Compensation for the Project Manager includes:
· Salary Range: approximately $38 - $45 hourly, commensurate with experience
