Piper Companies is hiring a Project Manager in Northern Virginia.
This would be a hybrid role with 1 day/week in the office in Reston, VA.
Responsibilities:
• Track progress, understand dependencies, and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders.
• Have bulletproof organizational skills to juggle many tasks without losing sight of the highest priority items
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to acquire, assimilate, and organize information quickly
• Have command of project management tools; experience with bug tracking software, apps release processes, and software support needs.
• Are able to assess the situation, recommend and implement organizational tools and solutions, understand complex concepts and work across multiple functions and teams.
• Has proven track record of managing initiatives from start to finish and shipping complex customer-facing projects under demanding timelines.
• Has strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and motivate people at all levels across a broad variety of job functions.
• Are familiar with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in SAFe practices and mindsets
Qualifications:
• 5-8 years of project management experience, including in a matrix organization
• Superior organization and communication skills across organizational levels
• Bachelor’s degree in, Business, Computer Science or Engineering
• Hands-on experience with Project management tools
• Technical background is not required but desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an entrepreneurial environment that is lean, fast-paced, and dynamic and working with development teams in Agile delivery and SAFe (Scaled Agile Frameworks).
• Proactively manage and mitigate project risks
• Have passion and commitment to product excellence
• Drive product development methodologies
• Build workable plans and communicate responsibilities clearly
• Understand issues and relentlessly drive them to conclusion
• Manage conflict
• Follow up, even if it means getting out and hounding people
• Translate technical details for non-techies
