Piper Companies is actively seeking a Scientist I to join a world-renowned laboratory for medical biological defense research in Frederick, MD.
Responsibilities of the Scientist I include:
· Composing, preparing, and execution of animal protocols to evaluate therapeutics for tolerability, pharmacokinetic, and in vivo efficacy studies
· Perform in vivo studies to better understand bacterial and viral pathogenesis
· Serve as a liaison between the research team, veterinary medicine group, and IACUC
· Create, design, and assess vaccines and therapeutics
· Assist in the high throughput screening assays for the antibacterial and antiviral projects
· Support the development of novel assays for screening
Qualifications of the Scientist I include:
· PhD in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Biology, or a related field
· Experience working in a BSL2 and BSL3 laboratory
Benefits for the Scientist I include:
· Salary: $75,000-85,000, commensurate with experience
