Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Developer to join our dynamic team in New York City. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth, as the Project Developer will report directly to the Vice President of Development and collaborate with some of the top industry veterans in the renewable energy space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of development of solar and energy storage projects from early stage through financing or sale.
- Lead project origination, including permit strategy, tracking local permitting bylaws, working with jurisdictional authorities, and to present at permit hearings and public meetings.
- Manage and prepare reports for management on project development budgets and timelines.
- Manage project documentation and data rooms, track contract obligations in key project documents.
- Oversee utility interconnection applications, studies, and ongoing communication with interconnection parties
- Lead site diligence and studies in collaboration with internal team members and consultants including surveys, engineering, site designs, and environmental studies.
- Maintain financial models for new opportunities which reflect accurate revenue and costs; run sensitivity analysis on key assumptions.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Construction and Finance Team, EPC Team, and Asset Management Team
- Collaborate with Business Development Team on new market entry strategies for new geographies, project profiles, and technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated interest in renewable energy and desire to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience with a preference for renewable energy or real-estate development experience.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to quickly prioritize and offer solutions to problems.
- Strong communication skills– both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated experience working in fast-paced, external facing roles
- Ability to work independently; driven and self-motivated.
- Comfort navigating complex problems and diving into dense issues
- Proactive, results-oriented with ability to meet timelines.
REMUNERATION
- Base salary: $110,000 to $120,000/year plus $20,000 per project
