Hiring Manager: Sr. Director, Human Resources

SUMMARY: The Payroll & Benefits Manager is responsible for the full oversight, and preparation for all payroll, payroll tax, and benefit-related processes and reconciliations. This position will liaise with ADP to process Multi-State Payroll for 500 employees across Corporate Offices, Manufacturing, Distribution Centers, as well as establish payroll processing for the company. In addition, this role will ensure full tax compliance is adhered to and complete the necessary State and local fillings as needed for new States/localities. This role will also act as the Benefits expert for the Company and ensure proper Benefits allocations, entries, and enrollment support.
KEY RESULT AREAS:
Payroll
· Process timely and accurate weekly, multi-state payroll for submission to payroll provider ADP.
· Manage the post-payroll functions and ensure processes are completed timely and accurately including payroll taxes, time and attendance records, payroll deductions, and accrual entries for the entire organization.
· Ensure accurate calculations of wages, tax withholdings, benefit deductions, and other deductions.
· Report, update, and process all employee earnings and deductions.
· Review, interpret and forward garnishments, levies, and child support orders in accordance with Federal, State, and local regulations to ADP.
· Ensure that the employee self-service portal is accurate with the processing of W-4, Direct deposit forms, Live in/Work in State form, State withholding form, and local tax forms.
· Act as the Payroll System Primary Administrator and Subject Matter Expert. This includes assigning training for new users, building reports for Company managers as requested, maintaining system SOPs, and continuing to revise best practices within the system and/ or payroll/tax/benefits procedures.
· Answer employee questions regarding benefits, time & attendance, and payroll Oversee and process deductions and payments for employees on Leaves of Absence.
· Maintain all payroll files and backup in accordance with legal requirements.
Benefits
· Communicates or oversees communications of all benefits plans for new hires, including supporting the online enrollment process.
· Manage the open enrollment process and communication with Employees.\
· Maintain tracking, issue invoices, and collect Benefits Insurance contributions due to the Company from employees on LOA.
· Audit and reconcile the monthly benefit allocations for all inter-co affiliates. Review for accuracy, coding, and payment.
· Act as the Administrator and Subject matter expert for the web-based Benefits enrollment platform (currently in Employee Navigator).
· Administer all employee benefits which include medical, dental, vision, 401k, Supplemental coverage plans, and COBRA.
· Maintain employee benefits files in accordance with Federal, State, and local guidelines.
· Assist A/P to ensure all benefits are paid on a timely basis.
· Ensure accurate 401(k) deductions and review of loan processing.
· Provide accurate data for 5500 Form completion.
· Assist with annual or periodic 401k audits as well as periodic service provider reviews.
· Maintain all Group and subsidiary withholding, SUI, disability, Garnishment accounts in positive standing
Reporting
· Prepare weekly and monthly KPI reports for the CEO and CFO
· Payroll, Benefits, and HR reporting as required
· Compile data and publishes related reports including Labor, overtime, vacation liabilities, and benefits enrollments
· Performs EEOC tracking and reporting tasks, ERISA reporting, 5500 compliance, 401(k), ACA reporting filing, and annual worker’s compensation audits. Assists with other wage-related internal audits as needed.
· Assist with periodic review of service providers for Payroll, HRIS, Benefits Administration, 401(k), and Insurance and benefit brokers Partners with HR team members to audit and ensure accurate payroll and benefits entries.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
· BS/BA degree in Business Management, Accounting, or related field is highly preferred. Associates in a related field are required.
· 8 or more years in a high-growth Production or Manufacturing environment working in Human Resources and/ or Payroll required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
The type of experience required to effectively perform the essential functions and responsibilities of this position are:
· Experience with ADP
· Strong knowledge of benefit and compensation programs and related functions.
· Strong organization aptitude and attention to detail
· Able to multi-task and work with multiple interruptions.
· Must be able to deal with confidential matters and information professionally and tactfully.
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
· Excellent written communication skills and solid presentation skills.
· Ability to prioritize and follow through to achieve results and meet deadlines to meet the needs of the business.
· Working knowledge of relevant federal and state wage and hour laws.
· Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
· Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
· Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is highly preferred, SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR preferred.
Travel is about 10%
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
