The Process Engineer is responsible for production and general plant engineering support through assigned projects and duties related to various areas and issues.
1. Support the plan, layout, and sequence of manufacturing, test and material handling operations using lean manufacturing principles.
2. Will be assigned more complex tasks requiring greater leadership, knowledge and skills and expertise from time working in the position.
3. Identify and adapt machine and equipment design to accommodate plant and production conditions.
4. Participate and lead root cause analysis of quality and build issues for assigned manufacturing areas of responsibility.
5. Study and improve manufacturing processes and procedures aimed at lowering manufacturing costs.
6. Research, benchmark, introduce and maintain safety practices in all activities and supported areas.
7. Plan the sequence of operations and write/maintain Standard Work Instructions for each area.
8. Trouble shoot product and machine difficulties.
9. Prepare requests and cost justifications for capital improvement projects.
This position requires a degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing or production engineering or a related field, along with 5-7 years of experience in the manufacturing environment. Effective oral and written communication and presentation skills are required. Computer skills required for this position include a working knowledge of Microsoft EXCEL, Word and Outlook.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills: Excellent Electrical and Mechanical Engineering skills; Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills; capability of working well under pressure; the ability to work well in a team environment and additional demonstrated leadership skills.
