As an HVAC Chiller Technician, your role likely involves a high level of expertise and responsibility in maintaining, repairing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, particularly focusing on chillers. Here's a breakdown of what your job might entail:

  • Chiller Maintenance: You would be responsible for maintaining and servicing chiller systems, which are crucial for large-scale air conditioning in commercial and industrial buildings. This includes routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and calibration of components to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting: When chiller systems or other HVAC equipment malfunction, you would diagnose the issue using your knowledge of refrigeration principles, electrical systems, and mechanical components. This might involve using diagnostic tools, performing tests, and analyzing data to pinpoint the problem.

This requires quick response times and the ability to work under pressure to restore functionality.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition is essential for tracking system performance and compliance with regulations. You would likely be responsible for documenting your work and providing reports to supervisors or clients.
  • Training and Supervision: As a senior technician, you might also be involved in training and supervising junior technicians, sharing your knowledge and experience to help them develop their skills in HVAC maintenance and repair.
