Responsibilities:
-In this role, you will elevate and expand the social presence of well-regarded media titles
-In collaboration with the CEO, develop and execute a social strategy to grow audiences
-Lead and grow a team of social media editors and producers
-Directly manage staff on the output of their social posts—provide effective feedback, coaching, and direction to grow their skills
-Have intimate knowledge of what their day-to-day challenges are
-Cultivate a collaborative team culture that encourages creativity, testing, data-driven decisions, and results
-Inform best practices and output by incorporating audience insights into daily operations
-Routinely workshop framing of articles that leverage social media performance data and readers’ interest
-Act as a social media expert, translating that knowledge into smart, creative, and engaging social content
-Own the voice of our brands on social platforms working closely with editorial leadership, exhibiting excellent news judgment and audience-sensitive framing
-Ensure content produced for social media meets the brand guardrails
Qualifications:
-You must be a savvy self-starter who loves building from the ground up, leverages data and has excellent communication skills
-You are a creative thinker and able to generate new and unique content ideas
-You are able to attract and keep an audience engaged
-You are a big-picture conceptual thinker as well as a doer
-Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills, with attention to brand tone
-You’re a problem solver and can help us find new, unique ways to ensure content reaches the intended audiences across various social platforms
-You are flexible and can shift gears quickly between multiple priorities and projects without missing a beat
-Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, marketing or communications
-3 years of experience overseeing social channels at a digital-first media company
-Possess in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices

- Presentation to CEO and CFO: A short proposal on how you would best be able to grow our social media network and why you would be the best fit for our team. Please feel free to use your imagination on presentation formatting.
