What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Manager/Bartender position at Pizza & Libations?
The Bar Manager is a leadership position at Taxman Hospitality Group and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the bar, working as the lead bartender during service and completing bar opening and closing duties.
This position is responsible for managing bar inventory including counting inventory, placing weekly beer, wine and liquor orders, organizing and putting away beer, wine and liquor orders, organizing and cleaning the keg cooler and tracking bar waste. This position will also be responsible for managing weekly bar prep including making simple syrups, cocktail mixers and garnishes.
The Bar Manager must have a strong background in mixology and should know how to build a wide range of classic cocktails. This position is responsible for training bartending staff on topic such as bar station setup and organization, cleanliness procedures, product dating procedures, how to wash and polish bar glassware, steps to open a wine bottle for guests and how to build house cocktails.
As the lead bar professional, the Bar Manager is expected to have a strong comprehension of wine varietals, wine styles and key growing regions, similar to the knowledge required to be a Level 1 Sommelier. This position should also have a strong comprehension of liquor brands, as well as aperitif and digestif liqueurs.
