Position Overview
Individual performs a wide variety of clerical responsibilities within the Accounting function including analysis and data entry.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Liquid asphalt accounting; daily ticket importing, processing, and billing. Reconcile weekly.
- Inventory roll forwards; tally, calculate and reconcile physical measurements to quantities on balance sheet.
- Bank statement reconciliations.
- Balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Maintain and reconcile property tax accruals.
- Process donations.
- Process AR refunds/write-offs.
- Data entry for new customer set ups.
- Collection and distribution of daily volumes.
- Preparation of monthly results book.
- Work closely with accounting team on various projects or requests as they arise.
Additional Responsibilities
- Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public at all times.
- Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
- Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.
- Strict adherence to policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
- BS degree in Accounting, plus 2-5 years relevant accounting experience.
Work Requirements
- Ability to communicate sufficiently to be able to convey and exchange ideas, and to give and receive detailed verbal instructions.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Individual must possess excellent computer skills and be proficient with Windows, Microsoft Excel and Word
