POSITION SUMMARY
The Project Engineer Intern works closely with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents through the various phases of the construction of water/wastewater facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Interpret plans and specifications for water/wastewater treatment facilities.
Assist in the estimation of concrete, structural steel, earthwork, process piping, and architectural elements for water/wastewater projects.
Acquire and review project submittals.
Create logs to better manage various aspects of the project.
Work with vendors on small orders and deliveries.
Assist in inventory of material.
Conduct field observations and inspections in compliance with project requirements.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Required
Currently working towards a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
Construction experience preferred, not required
SYSTEM QUALIFICATIONS
AutoCad, Blubeam, and Microsoft Office experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.
Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.
Able to work in all weather conditions.
The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, and use hands.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.
Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects, 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Hardhat, High-Visibility Vest, Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
