About the role

PKL Services Inc. is contracted to maintain and operate Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-15SG and United States Air Force (USAF) F-15E aircraft and equipment assigned to the 366th Fighter Wing located at Mountain Home AFB (MHAFB), Idaho.

PKL employees at this site are subject to a Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) regarding employment terms and work rules.

The Munitions Specialist shall control, account for, store, ship / receive, inspect, maintain, assemble, and deliver conventional and precision guided munitions.

Manage and maintain all assigned tools, test, and munitions handling equipment IAW DAFMAN 21-201, DAFI 21-101 and local directives.

Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Inspect, maintain, assemble (including emergency build-up), disassemble and test assigned missiles, other PGM, associated components, training items, support equipment and containers.
  • Perform Line Delivery and monitor munitions holding areas to preclude explosives and compatibility violations. The contractor shall assist in munitions reconciliation throughout the flying day and between aircraft goes as required.
  • Inspect, maintain and service assigned non-powered MMHE.
  • Assemble and disassemble, perform maintenance, test, and repair of munitions to support operational requirements and the assigned stockpile and shall maintain conventional munitions, containers, dispensers, and assigned MMHE and training items.
  • Perform demilitarization of inert munitions, to the level required by item demilitarization code or IAW DRMO procedures.
  • Monitor w arehouse munitions stock maintain storage area infrastructure and facilities, vehicles, and equipment to ensure mission supportability.
  • Perform surveillance inspection duties IAW T.O. 11A-1-10 on munitions in stock, returned, movement, in-use, and MPPEH to determine and identify serviceability, potential hazards, and possible deterioration.
  • Under direction of the MASO, implement management controls for munitions assets, record munitions transactions, and manage allocations, stock levels, inventories, requisition, and disposition of munitions.

Maintain and validate accountable and auditable records.

  • Direct, coordinate, and monitor ongoing scheduled and non-scheduled munitions / weapons maintenance activities. The contractor shall provide supervisors and managers accurate and timely information on the status of all explosive’s operations, emergencies, and contingency actions.
  • Plan, schedule and coordinate with munitions accountability and maintenance supply liaison on all TCTO requirements and prepare quarterly rolling forecasts, monthly plans, and weekly schedules.
  • Will be required to work in all munition’s sections outside of the assigned section when tasked by the flight or Munitions Lead.
  • Any and all other duties as directed by the Program Manager / Site Manager.

About you

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Prior certified / qualified 7-level Munitions System Technician with a minimum of six (6) years previous experience in Munitions duties.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

Work Environment / Physical Requirements :

  • May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar / flight line that may be noisy at times.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud at times.
  • Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions.
  • May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazardous area.
  • This position requires normal physical functions.
  • Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing.
  • May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
  • Normal color / depth perception.
  • No record of emotional instability.
