What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspector Packer position at PLA Sonoco Plastics, Inc?
Duties The safety and health of the employee takes precedence over any other duties of this job. Responsible for a safe and clean work area. Performs all responsibilities in a manner which ensures that the quality expectations of every customer (internal and external) are met or exceeded and that continuous improvement is achieved. Knows, understands, and follows all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSA’s) related to the position. Checks molded or extruded parts visually for quality defects as outlined by the quality requirements. Performs post-molding/extrusion operations such as buffing, scraping, deburring, assembly, etc., as assigned. Packs quality parts in the appropriate cartons with correct labeling and quantities. Segregates and reports non-conforming product according to procedures. Maintains proper accounting and recording of production data such as run records, scrap sheets, etc. Records SPC/SQC data where applicable. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
