What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Professional - Tax & Assessing position at Plainville Municipal Center?
The Town of Plainville is currently seeking a full-time Office Professional in the Tax and Assessing Department. This position is represented by AFSCME Local 1303-472 of Council #4. The starting hourly rate of pay of $18.41 per hour with a 35 hour work week. Hours are Monday thru Wednesday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.; Thursday until 7 p.m.; and Friday until Noon. Generous benefits package.
Applicant must have desirable phone etiquette with outstanding customer service experience and possess friendly interpersonal skills. General clerical and good computer skills required. Experience collecting money a plus. The ability to quickly grasp the familiarity of office operations, policies, and procedures; follow written and oral instructions with knowledge of grammar and spelling. Important to have the ability to plan and prioritize work.
Qualifications include High School Diploma or equivalent, Minimum of one (1) year experience in office work related to the specific job area. Some experience in working with the public is desirable or any equivalent combination of experience and education. Experience with Quality Data Systems (QDS), tax & assessing software, as well as Microsoft windows is desirable.
