Mental Health Specialist- Help Teenagers enhance Independent Living Skills

Salary: $25 - $35 per hour

Job Summary

· Provides rehabilitation / restorative treatment services to clients

· Crisis intervention (training provided)

· Therapeutic interventions

· Assessment evaluation of needs

· Professional level case management

· Visits with clients in residential or other settings

· Referrals and counsels with clients on various issues, life skills, money management, etc.

· Flexible hours

Duties

Duties may include:

· Provide rehabilitation treatment services to individuals or groups by providing significant support to assist clients in improving, maintaining or restoring functional skills, daily living skills, etc.

· Provides rehabilitative services by providing counseling and rehabilitation to maintain and restore personal independence at the best possible functioning level for client

· Performs collateral services by providing significant support with the intent of improving or maintain the mental health status of the beneficiary

· Participates in case conferencing

· Performs or assists in case management functions

· Accompanies clients to appointments and to provide assistance in completing paperwork and provide intervention services

· Serves as liaison and consultant between department and schools, organizations, parents, children, seniors, probation officers, Juvenile Hall, etc.

· Facilitates various groups (i.e. cooking, leisure, exercise, etc.) including: developing and maintaining operating procedures and schedules; documenting involvement of group members; resolving problems; planning special events; ordering related supplies

· Participates in treatment team, staff and professional meeting to discuss client progress and serves as a member of various committees

· Recommends service and program needs and assist in the development of policies and procedures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, 1-2 years of experience in a mental health setting, two years of post-Associates Degree experience with youth may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
