Overview
A UI/UX designer helps build and enhance SaaS web and mobile products for dental offices and dental groups. The designer seeks to strike the balance between UI and UX by understanding the usability for end-users, the business context, and the expectations of various stakeholders. The designer creates user interfaces that meet user requirements and also offer an intuitive and user-friendly experience. To be successful, the designer will need to be self-motivated, a critical thinker, be able to take high-level direction, communicate clearly, gain consensus, and drive to completion in a very fast paced environment.
A UI/UX designer doesn’t shy away from learning something new or experimenting to find the right solution. A friendly, hard-working, positive person with a true passion for solving customer problems will fit in well with our dynamic team.
This is a hybrid role working out of either our Newport Beach, CA or Seattle, WA offices 1x/ week.
Responsibilities & Duties
Design complex UI/UX solutions to meet customer needs and constantly push creative boundaries
Conduct user research, customer analysis, and competitor analysis
Translate complex business ideas, needs and goals into simple, beautiful user-friendly UI solutions
Collaborate with engineers and product managers to gather user requirements
Showcase design ideas through sitemaps, storyboards, and process flows
Create
A cohesive style guide to ensure consistent design language is followed
User personas, user task flows, and interaction models
Prototypes, wireframes, and mock-ups to demonstrate the functioning and layout of the product
Optimize existing UI designs and tests for intuitiveness and user-centeredness
Conduct usability testing to identify gaps in design and see if they can be further improved
Learn about on the latest design innovations and patterns and apply them appropriately
Participate in our Agile processes—from updating Jira to reflecting meaningfully in retrospectives and everything in between
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
5 or more years of experience in user experience, user interface design, design systems, or closely related fields
Demonstrated mastery of
User-centered design methods, trends, and techniques
UX deliverables such as site maps, wireframes, and style guides
UI deliverables such as interaction design, prototyping, responsive web, and native app design
Proven ability to lead user experience work in a collaborative environment
Experience in at least one Agile software development methodology (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to engage throughout the department and the company to achieve goals
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant major or equivalent years of experience
Any of the following would be a plus:
Dental industry knowledge
Experience in B2B product development
Experience in a CI/CD environment
Experience working in a Microsoft Azure technology stack
Experience working with React JS or Angular
Experience working with offshore teams
