What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mail Shop Support - 2nd Shift position at PLANET DIRECT?
Summary/Objective
You’ll be part of the Mail Shop team which is the last stop of the production cycle at Planet Direct. In this fast-paced and physical role you will be providing support to the management staff and operators with the Mail Shop by cycling materials throughout the department. 2nd Shift hours are 3:00pm to 11:30pm Monday - Friday.
Essential Functions

- Works under the guidance of a mentor
- Cycle materials in and out of production as needed
- Operate manual and electric pallet jacks and other ancillary warehouse equipment per your training
- Check materials prior to handling to assure correct materials are placed in correct locations
- Open boxes, load materials onto production equipment, break down boxes, and recycle materials by placing them into compactors and other receptacles
- Report problems in a timely manner through appropriate channels
- Maintain a clean work area
- Perform all duties safely, wearing required personal protective equipment as needed
- Observe all safety rules and immediately report hazards to management
- Be punctual to work and show up consistently
- Follow all company policies as described in the Employee Handbook
- May be cross trained on other equipment within other departments as production needs require

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday and occasionally on weekends. 1st shift is 6:30am – 3pm. 2nd shift is 3pm – 11:30pm.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
This is an entry level position with no experience required.
