Mold Technician
What you will do:
- The Mold Technician is responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process. Roles and Responsibilities Include: - Responsible for all aspects of the injection molding process including, but not limited to, set-up and tear down, troubleshooting, part inspections, equipment maintenance and workflow. The Process Technician is also responsible for the finish good to meet the customer specifications and making machine adjustments, as necessary.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Mold changes, color, model, insert (clamp mold in press properly and level- straight.)
- Tool repair work (blade, pins – core pins)
- Maintain part quality, color weight and part weight; troubleshoot problems
- Check color, release to prevent it from running out.
- Make sure presses are running at standard cycle
- Program robots for presses
- Be cross trained in Maintenance duties (Set-up pods, hot graphics, tapers, pinners, blenders)
- Prepare molds for storage including operating a 30-ton overhead crane
- Communicate information effectively with co-workers from all shifts
- Provide on-the-job training as needed to co-workers
- Knowledge of required safety procedures (LOTO, Sling & Crane etc.)
- Clean and maintain work areas (Clean up water, oil, material spills, etc. following all safety regulations.)
Additional qualifications that will help you be successful in this role:
- High School diploma and/or some technical training a plus
- Two to Five plus years of experience in an injection molding facility
- Understanding the mechanics of injection molding machines with PLC programing being a plus
- Understanding of tools related to working on injection molding machines (knockout rod, clamps, fuses, etc.)
- Basic computer & math skills
- Fine tune & can read a molding machine control screen
- Ability to read & interpret line diagram / blueprints
- Ability to safely use a fork truck, man lift, overhead cranes
- The person must have good motor skills and the ability to lift 50 lbs. The role requires standing for up to 12 hours, lifting, turning, twisting, safety gate operation, reaching, pulling, pushing, and clutching,
- Lifting 40lb. buckets up to catwalk, climb in and out of presses, stretching and reaching overhead, etc.
- Able to work/collaborate with employees across various departments in completing work and achieving goals
- Working in a dirty, greasy area.
- Ability to speak, read and write English

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
