Quality Technician

Title: Quality Technician

Department: Quality

Reports to: Quality Supervisor

Summary: Provides support to the manufacturing department.

Responsibilities:

• Ensures company policies are followed and enforces safety regulations.
• Reviews operator instructions with machine operators to ensure knowledge of job.
• Checks and verifies dimensions on production that require process inspections.
• Records in-process inspections.
• Places defective production in the Hold Area and completes necessary paperwork.
• Retrieve last two shots and file Shot Box Checklist.
• Reports deviations and/or defects to Quality Assurance Supervisor or Manager.
• Reports any problems encountered in the production area to Shift Foreman.
• Gathers items for up-and-coming mold changes.
• Assists other Quality Technicians in the department as needed.
• Notes scheduled mold changes that did not occur during your shift.
• Completes necessary paperwork for shift.
• Maintains good working relationship with others.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED or one year machine operator experience.
• Must read, speak, and write English, and possess basic math and computer skills.
• Minimum one year experience with injection molding plastics.
• IQMS (manufacturing specific software) preferred; will train.
• Proven knowledge of measurement equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints preferred; will train.
• Self-motivated.

Physical Demands:

• Involves sitting, standing and walking
• May include some climbing and repetitive motions
• Lifting up to 40 lbs.

• Manufacturing environment
• Some plastic dust and fumes
• Elevated noise

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
