What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Plastech Corporation?
The Shipping Clerk compiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, tabulates, audits and verifies information or data to ensure accurate and on-time delivery of shipments. In this position you will also use an ERP system or other appropriate process, accurately creates, modifies, and distributes shipping documents and information to ensure accurate and on-time delivery. The Shipping Clerk schedules and manages outbound freight shipments using the internet or telephone communication to ensure customer product is shipped in a timely manner.
Hours Available:
- 1st Shift (7:00am to 3:30pm) - Monday thru Friday
Qualifications:
- One to three years of related experience preferred
- One to three years of experience working in an ERP-based environment preferred.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
- Fill out general communication paperwork in written form legibly so as to be understood.
- Read, analyze, and interpret general business documents such as pick tickets, packing slips, bills of lading and governmental regulations.
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but non-engaging, written and oral instructions.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Apply good judgment in recognizing scope of authority.
- A qualified candidate must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Apply abstract concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Hourly pay range is $18.00 to $20.00/hour DOQ
