Key Responsibilities:

  1. Push the Boundaries of Plant Transformation: Develop and implement groundbreaking approaches to plastid and nuclear transformation in crops, including soybeans and corn.
  2. Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Play a vital role in collaborative research projects within the transformation team, actively contributing to project planning and long-range goals.
  3. Communication is Key: Regularly and clearly communicate your research progress and results to both team members and company leadership.
  4. Organization is King: Maintain detailed and organized records of project data and materials, ensuring efficient workflow and knowledge sharing.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  1. Academically Accomplished: A PhD with a minimum of 5 years of relevant post-graduate experience in plant tissue culture and transformation is preferred. We also encourage applications from senior-level "player-coach" candidates with exceptional expertise.
  2. Proven Track Record: You possess a demonstrated history of success in optimizing plant transformation systems, ideally in an industrial or large academic setting. Deep experience in corn, soybean or a related row crop species preferred.
  3. Independent Spirit: You thrive in fast-paced environments, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities with agility.
  4. Master of the Tools: Excellent planning, organization, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with a strong ability to execute project tasks efficiently.
  5. Bonus Points: Familiarity with molecular biology, plant gene expression, and transformation vector technologies will put you ahead of the pack.
