Laboratory Assistant

Plasvacc USA Inc. is expanding and hiring for a part time Laboratory Assistant.

Job Description

Essential Duties include:

• Quality control testing of all plasma products
• Quality control testing of non-plasma products
• Record keeping, both written and electronic
• Follow USDA, FDA, & CDFA regulations where applicable in addition to company SOP's
• Maintain retention sample storage and related records
• Cleaning and disinfecting of Laboratory Area(s) and equipment
• Assist in stocking supplies and maintaining the supply inventory
• Maintain PPE for lab and production departments
• Production of Gamma Check and Dynavet test kits
• Assisting with regular stocktake (inventory counting)
• Potential to assist in R&D of new product development
• Other duties as assigned

Other duties include:

• Cross-training in other departments as needed
• Answer incoming phone calls if necessary
• From time-to-time may need to assist in picking up supplies or deliveries

Hours:

• Part time: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 7:30am-4:00pm. Must be able to work overtime if needed on occasion.

Applicants must:

• Have a background in life sciences or similar
• Have experience with basic, essential lab equipment, pipetting and sterile technique.
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Be able to keep neat, accurate records and pay attention to detail
• Be able to understand written and verbal instructions
• Be able to work efficiently, complete tasks on time and problem solve independently
• Be able to maintain professionalism at all times
• Work well with others as part of a team
• Pass a pre-employment drug test

Physical Requirements:

• Be able to lift and move over 50lbs.
• Able to work in varying climate, including very cold and very hot temperatures
• Repetitive hand motions
• Stand and/or sit for extended periods of time
• Walk for extended periods of time, on uneven ground
• Lift, bend, squat, and reach
