Job Title: Discipline Manager- Design
Job Location : East Hartford, CT
POSITION PURPOSE
· Expert in Aero Engine part design and to provide support & guidance in Product Design task execution to the engineers
· Discipline Reviews to ensure high quality of delivery
· Proficiency enhancement programs and periodically conduct Discipline Health Reviews.
· To create and revise Standard Works and procedures
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES
Primary activities including but not limited to the following:
· To work with multi-discipline Product Teams to establish design requirements and ensure designs are safe, durable, and meet the quality requirements. Responsibilities include managing a design team, working on:
· Creation & Manipulation of complex solid models
· Inspection and repair markups, including comments and graphics, to provide guidance for structural analysis of the repairs.
· This includes obtaining internal approvals, facilitating government approval, and coordination with the repair sources
· Assist in creating technical documents that will provide engineering requirements for repairs. Familiarity with typical repair and manufacturing processes including welding, brazing, riveting, and coating processes including plasma spray a plus.
· Interfacing and coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines to promote the exchange
· of necessary data in support if engine builds.
· Technical data review & interpretation
· Presenting design solutions to Customer’s Product Teams
· Training/mentoring junior engineers to further increase proficiency of design team. Use modeling and design software, such as NX, to create 3D models analyze the structural integrity of static and rotating Aerospace engine hardware
· Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and discussions (Design, Structures, Project)
Qualification:
· Master’s Degree in Engineering from a reputed institute or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience
Work Experience and Essential Skills:
· 15 years of related work experience, including 5 years of experience working in aerospace sector (aero engine experience)
· An expert in structural analysis methods and theory. • Ability to mentor others
· Microsoft office – PowerPoint for Redline Creation and Outlook for requests
· Experience with CAD software - Solidworks, UG/ NX and ANSYS software
· Reading technical prints, Teamcenter, follow Standard Works and produce Standard works for task execution
· Must have a well-rounded view on issues surrounding innovation, technologies, retail,production, and mobility services throughout the world and can propose solutions for local as well as global automotive markets.
· All-round knowledge of various technologies associated with Aerospace industry is the key
· Demonstrated development of a professional network and experience with handling aerospace clients
· Proven skills and the ability to proactively support/counsel key client relationship

Salary: $150,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
