What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler position at PlayCore?
The Assembler is responsible for connecting parts into more complex components and for ensuring all parts fit correctly and are suitable for the final product by using hands, tools, and/or machines, to perform the job with precision. This position has no supervisory duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Possesses solid technical knowledge and manual dexterity.
- Reads instruction manuals, drawings, schematics and follows them with precision.
- Measures and makes accurate cuts to materials.
- Studies and prepares assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, i.e., gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Examines assembled parts for accuracy in dimensions, color, visual inspections for cosmetic and surface defects to meet work order or drawing specifications.
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Follows all applicable safety procedures to avoid injuries including, but not limited to, request for help from co-workers with loads exceeding 40 pounds, proper handling of raw materials, and follow all operational instructions when operating or using tools and equipment.
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling maintenance for repairs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations according to the 5S practices.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma preferred.
- Experience in woodworking, carpentry, manual labor, construction, or production background required.
- Experience using tools including, but not limited to, table saw, mitre saw, chop saw, circular Saw, router, drill, impact driver, etc.

Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is preferred.
