Assistant Manager

Family-owned indoor playground and café in the Bellingham. This job offers a unique set of skills that you can learn from working with children as well as working in café setting. Each day is a little different but fast paced. We host birthday parties, but we also have a dining room that is open for the general public. We have a close-knit staff that we consider our family. We are currently looking to change and grow our business and we are looking for someone to grow with us!

What we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced individual to help run our Bellingham location. This individual must be flexible both in mind and with time. This store has many moving parts between the café, birthday parties, and our structures. This individual must be organized, able to multi-task, and able to see all the small details.

What the job entails:

-Working with children and their favorite adults

-Simple line cooking

-Attending to the safety and security of visiting families

-Managing a young staff of 10-25 people

-Keeping up with changes of a growing business

-Use of critical and create thinking

-Effective conflict resolution

-Proper cash handling

-Training in our kitchen, barista, parties, structure maintenance, BOH, and office work

-Maintaining cost of goods and labor management

-Working closely with the owners to create a store in their vision

Required skills:

-Minimum 3 years of management experience

-Must have food service experience

-Experience working with children and their parents

-Flexible and willing to work in an ever-changing environment

-Must have (or immediately get) their food handlers and MAST

Expectations:

-Must work on busy days (Friday-Monday and School Holidays)

-Work with employees to set goals and continue to help them grow

-Work with assistant managers to make sure they are maintaining their expectations

-Able to learn in a fast, ever-changing environment

-Patience as we continue to change and grow our business

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to stand for 6-8 hours

- Lift 50 lbs

- Bend and crawl to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the play structure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
