POSITION DESCRIPTION
Quality Receiving Inspector
Grade 4, Step 1
SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for performing inspections, checks, tests and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts and components used in manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs inspections (indoor and outdoor) of purchased parts or finished company products according to well-defined criteria using standard physical, mechanical and/or electrical measurements.
Assist with root cause, correction action and quarantine of items identified from customer complaints.
Assist with completion of internal audits.
Assist with monitoring of UV and Salt Fog testers.
Manage product for customer returns, evaluate problems and make recommendations for corrective action including a Management Review Board meeting.
Conduct First Article Inspections and generate appropriate reports for Engineering and Purchasing.
Utilize blueprint requirements and/or purchase order requirements to approve parts for production.
Provide accurate and complete documentation (including photos) to support work.
Order supplies as necessary.
Ensures work is in compliance with ISO procedures and work instructions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Prefer one to three years related experience in Quality Control, Receiving Inspection and/or manufacturing environment.
Mechanical aptitude helpful.
Microsoft Office products experience including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Familiarity with Syteline 6 preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or verbal form.
Ability to read and interpret basic documents, safety rules and other correspondence.
Ability to count and measure parts and equipment.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read and understand blueprints and part layout diagrams.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using basic math skills.
Ability to distinguish colors.
Must be able to convert between metric and empirical measurement systems.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT:
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the attendance policy stated in the company’s employee handbook. Must be available and willing to work overtime hours as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
