Overview:
The primary responsibilities of the Set Up Operator are to set up a variety of printing, finishing, and card manufacturing production machines to ensure proper operation by general machine operators. This position requires 50% working with computer software and troubleshoot machine issues and make minor adjustments as needed.
Responsibilities are primarily machine setup, troubleshooting and periodic machine operation, this position will clean and prepare the work area and machine for the next workday or shift at the end of the shift.
Responsibilities include:
- Ability to, safely and with high quality, set up all printing, finishing, and card manufacturing production machines
- Operate machines in Manufacturing as needed
- Train general machine operators and agency-placed employees on safe and proper machine setup and operation of equipment
- Troubleshoot and correct minor machine defaults
- Audit quality for operations on each side of running machine
- Audit work instructions are being followed
Requirements include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a progressive, high-volume manufacturing environment
- Advanced math and reading skills
- Demonstrated mechanical ability and competency
- Ability to multi-task
- Developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organization skills combined with the ability to determine root cause, containment, and corrective actions

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, speak, hear and comprehend. The employee is required to stand for extended period of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms daily. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
